Lancashire Fusiliers (34683). Died of Wounds 09/04/1917 (the first day of the
Battles of Arras) age unknown. Commemorated at Bailleul Road East
Cemetery I.B.33.
James Welch - Private -
280875 Lancashire Fusiliers 1st/8th Battalion. Died 08/02/1919 aged 27.
Commemorated at Charleroi Communal Cemetery , S. 1. Son of Frederick
and Elizabeth (nee Hayes) Welch, 27 Rudman St, Regent Rd, Salford.
Jamie's name is not on the
front of the memorial as he was still alive at the time of its erection.
Victor Winspear - Private
- 2013 Warwickshire Regiment 11 Battalion. Killed in Action 15/07/1916 aged 32.
Commemorated at Thiepval Memorial pier and face 9A, 9B and 10B. Son of
Samuel and Louisa Winspear of 10, Jane St, Eccles New Rd, Salford.
Husband of Clara Winspear (nee Barrow) of 21, Oxford St, Regent Rd, Salford.
Brother-in-Law of Harry Barrow.
Victor was born in Bordesley, Birmingham.
